A Story of Heart and Art
Originally, our house was a favorite meeting place known as Chez Vaco, in homage to the renowned Mauritian painter Vaco Baissac. A close friend of the owners at the time, Vaco left his mark on these walls by personally participating in the decoration. Even today, two of his original works watch over the establishment, precious witnesses to this rich artistic heritage and to an era when every stay began with a human encounter.
Completely renovated in 2022 to become Sous le Badamier Boutique Hotel & Spa, the establishment has grown without losing its soul. From a discreet guesthouse, we have become a full-service hotel, gradually incorporating a restaurant featuring local flavors, a welcoming bar, and wellness areas. We continue to nurture this creative spirit by regularly exhibiting local artists, making your stay a cultural immersion in the heart of Mauritius.
